Expanding its religious donation online facility, the country's second largest private sector lender HDFC Bank has brought the Golden Temple of Amritsar in its fold and plans to have more such tie-ups during the year.
"Devotees of Golden Temple who were unable to make a trip to Amritsar for any reason, can now have the satisfaction of instantaneously getting their donations reach Golden Temple through a user friendly secure website feature of the bank," HDFC Bank Country Head-Operations A Rajan told.
The bank currently facilitates transfer of donations to 37 places of worship for different religions and talks are on
to bring more into the fold, he said.
In addition to Krishna Temple of Udupi, Tirupati Mandir and many other places of worship, he said, adding that during
the course of the year the bank will have more to offer to not only the customers of the bank but others as well, who wish to make online offerings through credit card.
The website, he said, offers a variety of payment options to devotees to make their offerings, which includes direct debit to their accounts with the Bank, or paying by a debit or a credit card of any bank.
The website also enables devotees to select the specific purpose for which the donation is made, he added.
